Lancer

Stalwart defenders of the Federation, the heavily armored lancers are masters of protection. Using their shield and their many defensive abilities, they are able to take on any incoming enemies, shielding allies from harm and allowing the team to focus on their own tasks.

Their attacks are slow, but precise and powerful, able to stun or knock enemies down. Lances provide good range for a melee class, allowing lancers to keep enemies at a safe distance. However, should an enemy get up close, the lancer can use his shield defensively just as well.

Wearing plate armor, the heaviest defense available to the soldiers of the Valkyon Federation, the lancer has exceptional protection against damage, albeit limited mobility.

His role in a fight – drawing the enemy’s focus to himself – does not require him to be mobile. Though lancers fight at their best in groups, utilizing defensive formations, they are dangerous opponents in a duel as well. Their ability to withstand damage and limit their enemy’s movement makes them a force to be reckoned with.

Kolan

“Kolan had seen many battles, more than he would have liked to. It wasn’t his choice. Someone else chose his path a long time ago when he murdered an Amani boy’s dreams: dreams of his own blacksmith’s shop, dreams of a family, dreams of a home. He was gifted.

 Even at a young age, he forged items which gained him the attention of great Amani artisans, but when his dreams were murdered, he forged only two more items: a shield and a lance. He wouldn’t allow any other boy’s dreams to be murdered if he could help it.

He would be the first to encounter the foe with a Challenging Shout and only retreated when all others were safe. Restless, he roamed the lands striving to protect what he had once lost. Others joined him for he inspired their dreams.

 One day, he would find his dreams in the eyes of someone else, and then eventually he would allow himself to dream again.

But even when he had revived some of his dreams, he could not forget his pledge. He knew of the frailty of dreams, and he lived each dream as if it were his last. And from then on he was prepared to Stand Fast to prevent his own dreams or anyone else’s from being murdered ever again.

His dreams are not at an end. They live on in those he touched, inspired, protected. They live on in his children, in me, in us.”Kajira, a strong and beautiful Amani lancer, touches Kolan’s memorial gently, picks up her weapons and turns back to her audience.
